Series Background:
When a dear friend and fellow Torchwood writer killed Ianto Jones in her own alternate universe, I freaked out. This was before the airing of Torchwood: Children of Earth, and being totally unspoiled for the third series, I had no clue they were planning on killing Ianto in canon either. Still, her story sent me reeling and in reaction, I began to think of ways that Ianto and Jack could be together despite all the inherent problems of death and immortality. I found a way... by exploring what could happen after Jack finally dies himself as all things must come to an end. Thus, the Collective Dreaming universe was born.
