Collective Dreaming: türkçelisan to English Dictionary

Introduction

Türkçelisan is the language spoken in what travelers from Sol III referred to as the Eridani Cluster.  This area of space, centered on the constellation Eridanus, contains several inhabitable star systems.  These include Benimayat (58 Eridani), Boeshane (Rho Eridani A), Canrahmet (Epilon Eridani), Eridania (82 Eridani), Kiztriolet (40 Eridani A), Kraliyetasası (53 Eridani), and Tekneyıldız (Zaurak/Gamma Eridani).

The systems in the Eridani Cluster were settled in a seemingly random order beginning with Daha Yaşlırahibe (82 Eridani II) in the mid-22nd Century and ending with the early 51st century colony Yarımadalı (Rho Eridani A V).  The sanctuary world, Korumalani (Epsilon Eridani IV), was settled in the mid-30th Century.

While the exact details of the culture of the Türkçelisan people are too complex to go into here, Terran anthropologists studying the culture for the Time Agency have determined that it is highly influenced by the Mughal culture of ancient India blended with some traditions of the nomadic Bedouins of the Middle Eastern deserts.  These influences are best seen in their traditional marriage customs, festivals, and highly erotic dancing.
